Church Development Through Making Disciples
Jesus told us to make disciples. It was his last instruction before stepping onto the cloud of God's glory and ascending to his Father's right hand. It's the prime directive of the local church, and yet most Christians in America today don't know how to do that.
We believe that disciple making drives everything else in the local congregation's ministry, and that without it a church cannot be healthy. Disciple making is the backbone of our entire process.
Church Development and the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference
The Church Development ministry of the CCCC exists to engage the local churches and pastors of our Conference and beyond in a life-giving developmental process that addresses their unique strengths and needs in order to improve their spiritual vitality, relational priority and their ministry fruitfulness.
WHAT WE OFFER
ASSESSMENT
We use a variety of evaluation tools to help assess the health of each church's ministry and life together. The Natural Church Development (NCD) survey measures eight quality characteristics of ministry and also evaluates the church against NCD's Trinitarian Compass. The VISTA Assessment takes our assessment even deeper, with specific foci on pastoral ministry, church leaders and the congregation's ministry.
TRAINING
We provide training through a combination of live and online modules. The introductory module (Disciple Making: Key to Developing Your Church) is offered live twice each year, once in person at our CCCC Annual Gathering and virtually another time later in the year. Our Biblical Peacemaking module is provided live in your church to help the entire congregation in implementation. The rest of our modules are offered online through our Moodle Online Delivery System as self-paced video lessons with additional help from a regional coach.
COACHING
We have over 40 trained coaches nationwide, and that number is growing. Our plan is to help each local church receive that majority of its church development coaching in person.

OUR PROCESS
We lead your church through an eight stage process that helps bring strategic, biblical alignment over a 2 to 3 year period:
- Module 1 - Disciple Making: Key to Developing Your Church (A one-day intensive overview)
- Module 2 - Biblical Peacemaking (On site at the Church)
- Module 3- Infusion (Regaining a Biblical Ecclesiology)
- Module 4 - Pilgrimage (Establishing a Unique Disciple-making Pathway)
- Module 5 - Journey (Developing Harvest Oriented Leaders)
- Module 6 - Horizon (Discerning Values, Vision and Mission Strategy)
- Module 7 - Engage (Pursuing an Outward Focus through Evangelism)
- Module 8 - Intercessory Prayer Movements (Re-establishing the foundation of Intercessory Prayer)
